The French Chamber of Midwives is made up of:

• 1 National Council: the Conseil National de l'Ordre des sages-femmes (CNOSF) is the leading body of the Ordre National des ages-femmes

• 5 Inter-regional Councils

• 100 “Departemental” Councils

The 100 “Departemental” Councils and the 5 Inter-regional Councils are administrative subdivisions of the Ordre National des sages-femmes and are the relevant bodies acting at local level.

The CNOSF is led by 5 elected midwives and has 12 permanent employees
